Uniforms

Uniform and dress standards should reflect positively on Mother Teresa Catholic Primary School. It is an expectation that students will present themselves in a manner that is not contrary to the social good of the school. Examples of this would be “Mohawk’ hairstyles, tracks or undercut hairstyles, dreadlocks or 'Bali' braids, mullets, rats tails, fade shaves or shaving patterns are not permitted. Gels and creams should not be used to create these styles. There should be no dramatic differences in hair length, e.g not shaved/short on sides and/or top but long at the back.  Artificial colouring (other than of the student’s natural colour) is not permitted. This includes bleaching.

No make-up, fingernail polish, coloured hair or tattoos are permitted.

It is a WHS requirement that hair (regardless of sex) extending below the collar be tied back with appropriate school hair ties. No scarves are to be worn to school.

Children may wear sleepers or studs.  Children may wear a watch.  A necklace may be worn if it is of religious or cultural significance, but we remind parents that this poses a safety risk to their child during play and sport. No other jewellery is to be worn.

The school has several ‘Sun Safe Procedures’ in place for the well-being of students. One such procedure is “No hat, no play”.
